Wally Collum, 98, beloved dad of Shelley Wheeler, died peacefully at home. He was born in Philadelphia, where he worked for Graybar Electric Co., Inc, where he was a District Manager and a Director of the company. He lived in Villanova, PA, before retiring in 1977 to Florida. He was active in various electrical industry organizations, including the Electrical Association of Philadelphia, serving on their Board of Governors.
Living in Osprey, he served as a Director of the Southbay Yacht & Racquet Club, and was a member of the Venice Yacht Club and the Oaks Club.
His wife Nancy C.H. Collum died in 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Shelley Wheeler, her husband Stanley Wheeler, of Osprey, and two grandsons, Chris Garos of Brooklyn, NY (wife Katie Albert), and Isaac Wheeler of New York City.
A memorial service will be held at Wiegand Brothers, 7454 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL, on Friday, February 22 at 2 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238. A private interment for Wally and Nancy will be held later this spring at Lower Merion Baptist Cemetery, Bryn Mawr, PA.
