William J. Webb, Sr., 81, of Venice, FL, formerly of Midland, Michigan, died on Jan. 20, 2013. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Fri., Jan. 25, 2013 at Snow Funeral Home in Saginaw, MI. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Sat., at Snow Funeral Home in Saginaw, MI. Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 following a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. The son of Floyd and Evelyn (Denison) Webb, Bill was born October 27, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 81 years. Bill married Doris E. Diebel, his loving wife of nearly 60 years, August 15, 1953 in Elkton, Michigan. She survives him. Bill started out in the gasoline business in 1951. At the time of his retirement Bill had 14 service stations in MI. He remained active during his retirement, teaching business courses in Russia and giving tours at Sleeping Bear Dunes. He enjoyed golfing, sailing and clowns. Bill and Doris enjoyed many happy years enjoying the best that Florida and Leland, Michigan had to offer. They also traveled extensively in their motor home. Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian and Venice Presbyterian Churches, Rotary Club
in Saginaw and Venice, Shrine Club , State and National Oil Associations.
Surviving besides his wife, Doris are four children, William J. Webb, Jr. (Sally), Bellingham, Washington; Robert J. Webb (Lori), Midland; Ruth Ann St. John (Ronald), Woodbridge, Virginia; Tamara Stahle, Midland; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Sue) Webb. Bill was proceeded in death by a sister, Dorothy Martiny, and several brother and sister-in -laws.
Honoring Mr. Webb's wishes, cremation has taken place. Please join Bill's family to celebrate his life at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., in Saginaw, Michigan, where his family will receive friends on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until Sharing of Memories at 11:00 AM.
