I live in North Carolina, but my brother Randy worked with Willie for many years. I had the opportunity to meet him on a couple of occasions and he always greeted me like family. He was a nice man and I know that he will be missed by many. I share in your sorrow, but pray that the happy memories will guide you through this difficult time.

Betty I was so sadden when I heard about Billy, but yet a joy came over me after speaking with him. When I stopped by the house, he showed no fear and that he was prepared. He was alright with the decision that God had made. I am so glad that I had that opportunity to talk with Billy. I pray that your heart will heal as time passes on. God will be there for you and your family.

We will remember Willie as being one of the most honest and respectable law enforcement officers of Longboat Key. All of his family can take pride in knowing that he loved them so much and glowed when he spoke of their success. May God grace you, Betty, and your family with love, comfort and peace during the upcoming days as you are facing the days without Willie at your side. Love from the both of us.
