Phillips, Eva G.
Jan. 8, 1922 - June 1, 2011

Eva G. Phillips, 89, of Sarasota, formerly of Kalamazoo, Mich. died June 1, 2011.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Aug. 3, 2011 at the Pines of Sarasota. National Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include son, Mitchell of Apopka; daughters Sharon Schaefer-Davis of Caladonia, Mich. and Joan Page-Ryon of Sarasota; brother Roland Jones of Hickory Corners, Mich.; sisters Vera Newington of Walterboro, S.C. and Lois Stiehm of Maryland; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Becoming a nurse at the age of 40, Eva worked until she was 80 years old. She was a long time member of Temple Baptist Church; a writer, poet and artist, which she won 6 blue ribbons at the Sarasota County Fair this year for her paintings.
Eva lived a full active life, enjoying all of her art and painting at the Pines up until her demise.
She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother who will be greatly missed as she transitions from this earth to her heavenly home.
