Olive May Pullman of Sarasota, formerly of Bristol, England, died June 17, 2010.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. today at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Pete) Burkybile; two sons, Bill Jr. (Missy) Pullman and Bryan (Terri) Pullman, all of Sarasota; a sister, Betty Frye of Surfer's Paradise, Australia; seven grandchildren, Denise Pennington, Scott and Jon Burkybile, Jennifer Villaveces and Lyndon, Lyndsee and Allee Pullman; four great-grandchildren, Holly Ann Burkybile, Justin Pennington, Sophia and Julia Villaveces; a great-great-granddaughter, Ryley Champion; and many nieces and nephews in England and Australia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Pullman Sr.; her son, Lyndon; three brothers; and three sisters.
Mrs. Pullman was a 30-year member of the Eagles, a member of the Daughters of the British Empire, the Sarasota Does and the Good Shepard Lutheran Church.
Bill Pullman married Olive Dec. 11, 1943, and brought his war bride back to the U.S. They shared 56 years of happiness together, as she never remarried, he was the love of her life. As a tribute to her love for her husband, she never removed her wedding band after her wedding day 66 years ago. She will always be remembered as kind, gentle, loving and devoted to family and friends.
Because of her love of children, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the All Children's Hospital.

Bryan, Terri, Lyndsee and Allee...

Words cannot express the loss of a mother (and great grandmother) until we experience the loss ourselves. We remember the good times, the memories and what we could have done to make their lives a little bit happier. In the end it comes down to family, caring and love. Indeed, Olive was blessed with all three.

Olive was a lively, loving lady. Always fashionable with a sparkle in her eyes. We enjoyed her at our family gatherings and thought of her as part of our own family. We will miss her.
