Geralyn Schultz-Fernandez Obituary
Nov. 15, 1967 - July 8, 2009
Geralyn A. Schultz-Fernandez, 41, of New York City, formerly of Sarasota, died July 8, 2009.
A celebration of life will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church.
Geralyn passed away suddenly July 8, 2009.
She is survived by her dear husband, Angel of New York City; devoted parents Noel and Anne Schultz of Sarasota; a beloved sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Richard Welch, and a cherished niece, Nolan Olivia Welch, all of Sarasota; and treasured grandmother Anna Romano of New York. She is also survived by loving aunts and uncles George and Carline Harris of Pennsylvania, Peter Romano of New York, Paul and Cathy Schultz of Colorado and David and Sharon Schultz of Colorado; and loving cousins Jennifer and Matthew Brown of Maryland and Katy, Stevie and Molly Schultz of Colorado.
After graduating from James Madison University in Virginia she completed nursing school at St. Vincent's Nursing School in New York City. She worked and dedicated the last 18 years of her life working as a registered nurse in the cardiac critical care unit at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City.
She will be greatly missed, never forgotten and always loved.

Dear Anne & Noel,
I've known you and your family my entire life. Hearing that Geralyn is no longer with us is devastating. Although I haven't seen her since we were kids back on Long Island, I want you to know that your daughter was someone that I always looked up to with fondness and a great deal of respect. She never had a problem taking me in the pool or letting me sit with her in her room when I was little. That meant alot to me. Your daughter was a wonderful person. You and your family mean the world to my family and if you ever need us, we are here for you. Always. You are in our hearts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear the news about Geralyn. I've been searching for her for a few years trying to reconnect. I don't know if you remember me, but I spent several school breaks at your home during college. Geralyn was a great friend and I will miss her.

Dear Geralyn,
Family and friends will forever hold you close in their hearts,
and deep in their souls.
You meant the world to your family, who will continue to love you, miss you, and will grieve the loss of your young life, until the glorious day when we will all be together again!
Through the pain and tears, I pray and praise God for putting treasured memories, thoughts of you & the special person you were, pride in knowing the difference you made in the lives of all you touched during your nursing career, into your loved ones hearts, in a way that will give them PEACE and STRENGTH that only God can do.
I thank God for your sister Stephanie, who has brought love, laughter, and joy into my Brother Rich's life. Together God has blessed them with your niece Nolan, who will forever bring love & joy into their lives and to your loving parents, Noel & Ann, (her grandparents) who have also blessed Rich, and loved him like a son. I know Rich will miss you, and always treasure the times you had together, he says you always made him laugh.
