Marian, Stan, Eddie, and Judy I was so sorry to hear yesterday of Harvey's death earlier this month. He was in some ways a second father to me, teaching me so much about sailing, racing, navigation, and seamanship. He also trusted me to take your precious White Caps to Florida one autumn and later made me a watch captain on the Marion to Bermuda Race in 1981. I always felt like an older brother to you kids. I will miss him greatly, but his legacy does live on in all of us. Please let me know when the gathering will be in Marion (508-748-0286). My love to you all.

The first time I met Harvey, I immediately liked him. Before the evening was over, I felt I had known him for ever. A man from Boston and one from the Ozarks, who both loved golf, good wine and country music. He was a fine man, and I consider myself lucky to have known him. Al Ellison, Springfield, MO
We met Harvey and Judy a few years ago on a cruise, and that was the beginning of a delightful friendship. We visited with them several times in Florida, and a fun trip to Nashville. There was never enough time to solve all the problems of the world.
We treasure the memories of good times spent with such special friends. We were blessed to known Harvey. He was a good man and will be missed

Harvey was one of a kind. He was very generous with his many boats. I was delighted to be asked to race to Bermuda, cruise to Maine, bachelor cruise in May.We played tennis and golf as well.We laughed a lot at our attempts to look good. He realized he had a great life and married two great gals.

I remember Harvey as a bigger than life person who laughed hard, worked hard and played hard. My thoughts and prayers to Ed, Daria, Adam and the rest of the family during this time. He loved his family and that is the key to his long and happy life! Love

A Tribute to Harvey White. The Greatest Generation, a book written by Tom Brokaw, profiles those who went off to war in the 1940's to defend our country against tyranny and then return home to create an economy that had never been seen before. Harvey White was indeed a member of the Greatest Generation. Harvey served our country as a Naval Officer, in combat, in the Pacific. When the war ended he became an innovative businessman, entrepreneur, and banker. Harvey became a dear friend. We always found him to be honest, loyal, and entertaining willing to tell things the way they were. Harvey, you will be greatly missed by all. We wish you fair winds and following seas. Sincerely, Dori and Bill Cahill

I miss the days we played tennis. Harvey could beat you mentally as he would intimidate in a very funny way. We would laugh as hard as we played because Harvey's competitiveness was contagious.
We will miss you Harvey,
