Phil and June MacArthur, Key West and Fair Haven, sailed, sang and played tennis with Jeff and Kathy. I sold him our upright piano for the Fair Haven cottage. He was Junes doctor. They were fun people.

Jeff left the best legacy a man can leave - a good example. He was a true sportsman - a gracious competitor and a fine gentleman. We will all miss him - Stuart Smith, Flying Scot Fleet, Sarasota Sailing Squadron

Jeff was a terrific sailor. He was a great competitor and a real pleasure to compete against in the Flying Scot Class on Sarasota Bay. All of us at the Sailing Squadron are going to miss his friendly smile and enthusiasm for the sport.

Dear Katharine,
We are so saddened to hear of Jeff's death. He was such a dear sweet man and we feel so fortunate to have known him. We will treasure the time we spent with him and smile when we remember sailing together.

I am honored to have known and sailed with Jeff. Sailing Flying Scots will not be the same without him. He embodied sportsmanship and fair play and will be deeply missed.
