Albert Michael Silkey, Jr., 66, of East Hartland, formerly of Sarasota, died Dec. 6, 2011.
Services will be in Granby, Conn. Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, Granby, Conn. is in charge of arrangements.
Al lived in Granby, Conn. before retiring to Sarasota, Fla. in 1988 and returned to Connecticut in 2010. Al was an avid fisherman, enjoyed the warm weather, and was a Red Sox fan.
He leaves a brother, Ernest R. Silkey of Agawam, Mass.; two sisters, Charlotte Silkey of East Hartland and Penny Louise Stanton of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two nephews, Jeremy Seam and Carl Seam; and many cousins. He leaves an uncle, Michael A. Silkey of Sarasota, Fla., and was predeceased by a good friend, Russ Waite and several aunts and uncles.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lost Acres Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 71, Granby, CT 06035.
