Carolyn Marlene Owens, 79, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Kenwood Health & Rehab. She was the wife of Orville Lee Owens.
Carolyn was born on May 15, 1938 in Monticello, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Foxie and Maude Campbell Young. She was a woman of faith, and was greatly involved in her church, First Baptist Church of Richmond. She raised her family in Pendleton, Indiana, and after retirement moved to Venice, Florida, for several years. For the last 10 years she had lived in Richmond, Kentucky. Carolyn enjoyed nature, gardening, and volunteering with the . She loved spending time with her family and friends, and was most proud of her four grandsons.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by: two daughters, Diana Mifflin (Stephen), of Sun Prairie, WI, and Tamara Bland, of Pacific Palisades, CA; four grandsons, Michael, Daniel, Andrew, and Matthew; and one sister, Eileen Decker (Jay), of Florence, KY. She was preceded in death by her sister Ollie Kells, two nephews, seven brothers-in-laws, and one sister-in-law.
Funeral services for Carolyn Owens will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Richmond with Bro. Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the church.
