I am greatful for Dr. Mathews founding the Sarasota Bicycle Club; we had many excellent rides in the late 80's and early 90's. He gave me much good advice and I'll always remember his kindness. He touched my life.

What a wonderful man! Dr. Mathews made sure that I was well cared for at SMH , many years ago. My husband and I were greatly impressed with his kind and gentelmanliness. My love goes out to his family. sincerely; Nancy Foertsch

Charles gave so much to this medical community and was instrumental in the formation of the pulmonary and respiratory programs at both Doctors and Memorial Hospitals. As a father, he taught my boys, Mike, Matt, and Mark Sylvester, love of learning, love of classical music, and respect for women, especially their mother. He supported their educational, musical, and sports activities and created wonderful memories of interesting family vacations. He will be missed by all. Renee Sylvester Mathews 941-928-9263
