Donna Lee Chen, 53, of Sarasota, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio died Jan. 07, 2012.
In loving memory of Donna Lee Chen. Born in Brockton, Mass, on March 31, 1958. A loving momma and registered nurse at Sarasota Memorial Hospital's Cape Surgery Center and Doctors Hospital. Her kindness, generosity, sincerity, and devotion to her family, friends and faith will stay forever in our hearts and souls.
We will remember her as a small child with a sweet tooth, most likely to make you a lovely cup of tea, willing to share a lengthy story, shed a tear with you and show up on your porch in a time of need. She was a runner, a swimmer, a dreamer, and a believer in the best in all of us.
Until we meet again, we are grateful to have shared our lives with her. Although, this is a time of great trial, we count ourselves the luckiest in the world to have her as a mom, daughter, sister, wife, and friend.
Donna is survived by her parents, Gordon and Gail MacPhail; her sisters, Dinise, Diane and her husband John Eduardo, Cheryl and her husband Scott Elsbree; and brothers, Paul and his wife Colette, and Roy and his wife Ardelia; Also, her immediate family, husband, Dr. Wellington Chen, sons, William and Andrew and daughter Tiffany, her dog's Lucky and Barney, sister-in-law Josephine, cousins, nieces, nephews and a multitude of close friends.
God is with you Donna, you have and always will be our rock our strength our comfort and our guardian angel.
A visitation service will be held on Friday from 5 - 7 p.m. at Toale Brothers on Orange Ave. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Palms.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MADD (Mother Against Drunk Driving), The Humane Society, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
