We have countless fond memories Ed and Edna, our dear friends and next door neighbors at the cottage from 1972 onto nearly the present. With a huge heart and ready wit, he would be there to help in a heart beat when he sensed the need. I was just 16 and he 52 when we first met on our beach as he bounded down the stairs, his right hand extended, booming "Hello there! You must be Johnsons! I'm Ed . . . " Such fond memories indeed. He and Edna will be in my thoughts and prayers. Of course my condolencses to Barbara, Ken and all of his family and friends

A truly fine man who was such a pleasure to meet, and talk with. I can still hear his booming voice. Godspeed to this great American.

We saw Ed in 2014 during our last year at the camp. He looked great and we will always remember his smile and laugh.

Ed and his wife were wonderful people to get to know and to do work for. He added a lot to the Borodino area.

How sad to hear of Ed's passing. He was such a unique man. My visits with him were always one of my highlights of my time on Skaneateles. I will miss him and all his wonderful stories of his early days on the lake. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Ed was a great spokesperson for forestry and sustainable development. He was outgoing and always up-beat. I first met Ed at a meeting in CO the year I joined the faculty at what was then the NYS College of Forestry. I'm blessed that our paths crossed often throughout the years.
