Dr. Elias Caltenco of Bradenton, FL, passed away on April 7, 2018. He was born on December 14, 1937 in Mexico City to the late Elias Caltenco and Julia Bernal Caltenco. He has worked for Manatee County Rural Health Services for over 33 years. Dr. Caltenco earned his Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) from La Universida Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. Dr. Caltenco was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Scott Caltenco; his sister, Marisela Caltenco Alvarado and his brother, Arturo Caltenco. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Francis Caltenco; his son, Alexander Caltenco and his sister, Alicia Caltenco Bernal. He loved God, was involved with his church and also attended a bible study fellowship for many years. Dr. Caltenco loved life beyond measure and brightened everyone's day with his great personality, amazing sense of humor and joyful spirit. His fellow peers and coworkers were not only friends but also a part of his family. He had a work ethic like no other and continued to work full time right until the very end. His tireless efforts to help his patients and the community contributed to him delivering 4 generations of babies in Manatee County. Dr. Caltenco was thankful to God for each day and lived his life to the fullest. His light will continue to shine through the countless lives he brought into this world and also the numerous lives he saved. He will be missed but never forgotten. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00PM Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209. Services will be 10:00AM Monday, April 16, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3100 26th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34205. Interment will follow the Services at Skyway Memorial Gardens, 5200 US Hwy 19 North, Palmetto, FL 34221. Condolences may be made to www.brownandsonsfuneral.com.
