Jacqueline Bailey, 73, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Maidenhead, Berkshire England, died peacefully on the evening of November 17th, 2012.
Jacquie was born in Bournemouth, Hampshire, England, and attended Parkstone (Grammer) High School in Poole, Dorset. She moved to Sarasota in October of 1998, and had almost fourteen wonderful retirement years in the Florida sunshine. Jacquie married William Bailey in Bournemouth in June of 1965. She pursued a business career for six years after marriage, and then began her family in 1970 with the birth of her son, Christopher Adams Bailey. Jacquie is survived by her husband, her son and his wife Beverley-Kim, and two wonderful granddaughters, Kristen and Tamryn.
Jacquie was a lovely, warm person who enjoyed being with and talking to other people. We were all awash in her personal sunshine. She was active in a number of woman's organizations in England, and was President of the Cookham Village, Berkshire, Woman's Institute for many years. She was also an active member here in Sarasota, of the Daughters of the British Empire, and a member of the Pine Shores Presbyterian Church.
A simple memorial service is planned for the Pine shores Presbyterian Church on Sunday, November 25th at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pine Shores program for Back Packs for Kids, 6135 Beechwood Ave., Sarasota, FL 34231.
