Rae Ferguson Reasoner, 81, of Bradenton, passed away July 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Egbert Samuel "Bud" Reasoner, who passed away in 1998.
Born October 6, 1931, in Winnetka, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Jerome Ferguson and Allis Nugent Ferguson Colvin. She moved to Longboat Key in 1938. She graduated from Rosemary Hall, Greenwich, CT as President of the Senior Class, and received the Optima award. She went on to attend Connecticut College, where she majored in Botany. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton, Selby Gardens, The Bradenton Country Club, and the Tropical Flowering Tree Society. She was a former board member of the Junior Science Museum, the South Florida Museum, Manatee County Agriculture Museum, a life member of Entre Nous, and a sustaining member of the Service Club of Manatee County.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel Anderson "Andy" Reasoner and wife Beth Byron-Reasoner, of Bradenton, and their children, Ryan Addison, Byron Tyler, and Lauren Nicole; and Alan Ward Reasoner and his wife Theresa Kelly Reasoner, of Bradenton, and their children, Justin Garrett, and Jesse Colin; her daughter, Elizabeth Rae Reasoner and partner Laura Pfender, of Colorado Springs, CO, and their daughter, Harper Allis Reasoner Pfender; her brother, Arthur Jerome Ferguson; and sister, Allis Ferguson Edelman, both of Sarasota, and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted today, Thursday, July 25th. at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton, by the Rev. Elizabeth Kuehl. Interment will follow in Manasota Memorial Park.
