Roger J. Cartier was born in Argentuil, France. During World War II, he joined the French Resistance. After the liberation of France, he served in the French Army with an American Army Unit.
Following his military service, he earned his Masters in Engineering from the Sorbonne Universite de Paris. He worked for Kodak in Paris, and then immigrated to the United States in 1955. Because he was fluent in four languages, he established several engineering sites for Singer Corporation throughout Europe. He earned several patents in Europe, the U.S. and Canada. Later, he retired from Whirlpool Corporation and moved to Sarasota where he resided until his death on November 22, 2013.
Roger was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A memorial service will be planned for early next year. His family requests that any donations be made in his memory to: Tidewell Hospice, 5595 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238
