Sally Brown, 63, of Englewood, Florida, formerly of Dunkirk, Maryland, passed away surrounded by the love of family after a long battle with breast cancer. Born in Washington, DC, she was the oldest 5 children. Her teaching career in Maryland began in home economics and later Special Education. She also served as President of the Learning Disabilities Association of Calvert County, Maryland. Following her years teaching, Sally moved to Englewood and attended Christ Lutheran Church.
A love of God and nature led her to become a church camp counselor in her early 20s. She shared this love with her family taking vacations to national parks and historic sites as she also became an amateur photographer and often won awards. Sally is survived by her husband Dennis; three daughters Virginia, Christine (Justin), and Amy; granddaughter Madeleine; father Lee; siblings Linda, Bill, Susan, and Richard; father-in-law Edwin; sister-in-law Dorothy; and five nieces and one nephew. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for replacement of the organ at Saint Nicholas Lutheran Church, 1450 Plum Point Road, Huntingtown, Maryland 20639 where Sally and her husband were charter members.
