Our dear sister and Aunt, Sheila MacGillivray Mastroianni, died on June 6, 2011, in her home in Sarasota. Sheila was attended and cared for during her last illness by her devoted nephew Ron Mastroianni and Maria Marshall.
Sheila was the third daughter of William and Margaret Ruth MacGillivray. She was born in Gloucester, Mass., Oct. 11, 1932. Sheila graduated from Saint Ann High School in Gloucester as valedictorian of her class in 1950 and from Boston Dispensary School of Laboratory Technology in 1952. She worked in hospitals in Boston and Hyannis Mass., and in physicians' offices in Portland, Oregon and Los Angeles, Calif. In Los Angeles she managed a physician's office for many years.
Sheila married Ribello Mastroianni in 1963. They moved from Los Angeles to Sarasota in 1987. Ribello died in Sarasota in 1999. Sheila's parents and her sister, Patricia Malone Verbeck, also preceded her in death.
Sheila Mastroianni is survived by, Ron Mastroianni of Sarasota; her sister, Jeanne MacGillivray Habein of Billings, Mont.; nephews, Peter, Jared and Christopher Habein and nephews Denis, Kevin, Thomas; and niece Terry Malone; also by many nieces and nephews from the Mastroianni family.
The family thanks the staff of Tidewell Hospice for all help and professionalism that allowed Sheila to fulfill her wish of remaining in her home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sheila's memory to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
Sheila was a highly intelligent, kind and perceptive lady and a loyal friend. She was devoted to her family and her many friends who will cherish and miss her always.

Sheila, Peace be with you my very special good friend. I have great memories of our bridge games, cruises and Vegas trip and everything in between. Our friendship was the best. Words cannot explain it. You listened when I needed you. I will forever miss you. Rest in Peace. Love Theda
