Smith, Tom R.
Sept. 20, 1927 - June 2, 2011

Tom R. Smith, 83, of Venice, formerly of Lexington, Ky., died June 2, 2011.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Milward Funeral Home in Lexington. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington, with burial in Lexington Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Barron; son Pressley M. and his wife, Linda, of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter Juliet Hardesty and her husband, Mark, of Lexington; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He retired as a Kentucky Utilities engineer with 35 years' service; graduated from the University of Kentucky; and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Venice Golf and Country Club, Sertoma Club and St Mark's Episcopal Church. Memorials may be made to St Mark's Church.
