Naomi Jane Anthony, of Sarasota, formerly of Massillon, Ohio died Apr. 11, 2012.
No services are scheduled at this time. National Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
Born on Feb. 27, 1921 in Wheeling, W. Va. and formerly of Massillon, Ohio until returning to Sarasota in 1982. Mrs. Anthony attended Lake Erie College for Women and graduated from Wittenberg University with a B.S. in Education. She was formerly a member of SaraBay Country Club, Bird Key Yacht Club, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and Whitfield Estates Presbyterian Church.
She was a great educator and took pride in forming the first American Girl Scout troop in France.
Surviving are her granddaughter, Heather Christian Anthony; great-granddaughter, Kayla Kristian Alexander and great-grandson, Joseph Scott Papa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Lewis Anthony; son, Clifford Lewis Anthony, Jr. and daughter, Nancy Wallace Anthony.
