Eliza B Graue, of Hendersonville, N.C. died April, 11, 2012.
Mrs. Graue was the widow of "Alley Oop" cartoonist Dave Graue. Former long time Sarasota resident she was active in the Hospital Auxiliary, Garden Club and taught at Alta Vista Elem. School. She earned a Doctorate of Education from the University of Sarasota and authored Is Your Child Gifted? in 1982. She and Dave moved to Brevard, N.C. in 1979 where she chaired the local United Way. They retired to Hendersonville where she served on the boards of the Henderson Co. Symphony Orchestra and Children and Family Resource Center. Known affectionately as GG, Eliza is survived locally by her son Daniel, wife Jennifer and their children Lydia and Cian. She is also survived by son Jeff now of Lexington, Ky., daughter Karen of Hendersonville, N.C. and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
