Carolyn Carol Plunkett, 73, of Longboat Key, formerly of Moline, Ill. died April 17, 2012.
Carol Billiet was born Oct. 13, 1938 in East Moline, Ill. She dedicated her life to raising three sons and providing a loving and fun household for her family. Carol was an avid golfer, bridge player, and active member in numerous community activities.
She is survived by her husband Mike, of 52 years, and three sons. Tim and his wife Cyndi and their three children Michael, Meghan, and Mallory of Peachtree City, Ga.; Todd and his wife Amy and their daughter Maeve of Western Springs, Ill.; Doug and his wife Jayne of Hong Kong. She was preceded in death by both her parents and brothers Duane and Vern.
Carol loved the Longboat Key area and had lived there since 1991. She could normally be found walking the beach, enjoying friends, and always had a smile to share. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She had battled Alzheimer's over the past decade but is now at peace with God.
A memorial service will be held Saturday April 28, at 1 p.m., at Toale Brothers Colonial Chapel, 40 N. Orange Ave, Sarasota, FL 34236.
