Jerry Wayne Hart, 52, of Bradenton, Fla., was born on Oct. 25, 1959 in Huntington, Ind. to Lawrence and Carolyn (Schenkel) Hart. He died on April 19, 2012, when he swerved his cement truck to avoid hitting a small car.
Jerry graduated from New Haven High School in 1979 and received a Welding Degree from Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jerry moved to Florida, in 1985 with his family. He worked as a welder until his health forced him to find another profession. From there Jerry worked in sales at Granny's Motor Sports. Since then Jerry has also worked for Forest Products, Shrum Steel, and for the past several years was a Ready-mix driver for Cemex USA.
Jerry loved family, biking with friends, walking the beach, and had a fun personality. He was known as "Favorite Uncle Jerry" to his nephew and nieces and was "Uncle Jerry" to his best friend's two children. Jerry attended Church of the Palms and was strong in his faith with God.
Survivors include mother, Carolyn Hart; brother, Jon Hart; sister, Lori (Steve) Warner; nephew, Clark Warner; nieces, Caroline Warner and Sophia Hart. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Hart.
Memorial Service to be held at Church of the Palms, 3224 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, Fla., on Saturday, April 28, at 1 p.m. with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Church of the Palms.
