Clarence O. Adams, 97, of Sarasota, formerly of Lyndhurst, Ohio died April 25, 2012.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Sarasota National Cemetery. Palms-Robarts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie; son, William C. of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughters Linda Ferguson, and Mary King both of Venice; sisters Louise Welborn of Laurel, Miss., and Jane Perdue of Jackson, Miss.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Clarence received his Masters in Education from the University of Mississippi, and taught in the public school system in Mississippi and Ohio. He was a member of Zeta Eta chapter of Kappa Delta Pi Honors Education Fraternity. And was a recipient of the Jennings Scholarship Award. Clarence was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II.
