Peter Edward Jordt, age 71, of Venice, Fla. passed away at his home on April 26, 2012. Born Jan. 18, 1941, he was the son of the late Stuart and Rita (DesRosiers) Jordt. Peter was a 1960 graduate of Enfield High School in Enfield, Conn. After graduation, he worked as a facilities engineer for Southern New England Telephone for over 25 years. Upon retiring, he resided in Blanford, Mass. where he served as a mountain manager for the Blandford Ski Area and groundskeeper for the Blandford Country Club. In 2003, he retired fully to Venice, Fla. Peter is survived by his wife, Betty Ann (Rathbun), of Venice, Fla.; his daughters and sons-in-law, Monica and Robert Robinson of Putnam, Conn. and Valerie and Robert Muszunski of Ellington, Conn.; three granddaughters, Madilyn, Gabrielle, and Sidney Robinson; and one brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Gittie Jordt of Austria. A private grave-side service will be held mid-June by the family.
