Joseph Appleby Jr. Dec 21st 1921 - Sept. 13, 2011
Appleby, Joseph, 89, of Sarasota FL and a former resident of Akron, OH passed away peacefully on Sept. 13th, 2011. He was born to Joseph Appleby Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Deneen, on Dec. 21st, 1921 in Akron, Ohio.
Joe served proudly in US ARMY during WWII. He attended Kent State University, earning his MBA in American History. Joe worked for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., retiring after 47 years of service.
Joe was survived at time of passing by his wife of 66 years, Selena Faye Appleby.

Appleby, Selena Faye, 88, of Sarasota FL and a former resident of Akron, Ohio passed away peacefully on, Dec. 1st, 2011. "Faye" was born to Albert Wilson Bartley and Essie Mae Ratliff on Dec 8th, 1922 in Ashcamp, KY.
Faye was a Registered Nurse, commissioned in the US ARMY during WWII. She returned to nursing some years later at the VA hospital in Brecksville, OH.
Joe and Faye were members of GYRO International, Retired Officers and the Navy League.
Joe and Faye are survived by daughter, Susan Faye Appleby-James of Punxsutawney, PA. son Robert Joseph Appleby and daughter-in-law Barbara Stanton-Appleby of Richmond, VA; Grandchildren, Christopher G. James and Jillian S. James of Tucson, AZ., Lauren E. Appleby, Joseph R. Appleby, Katherine G. Appleby and Spencer W. Appleby of Richmond, VA. They will be missed by surviving family members and many life long friends.
Joe and Faye will rest together in the Arlington National Cemetery. A joint service is planned for Friday May 4th. 2012. In lieu of flowers, they would appreciate support of the WWII memorial fund: P.O. Box 96766, Washington, D.C. 20090-6766 or similar endowments honoring members of the United States Military.
