Charles Golson
Charles Davis Golson, 85, a native of Sterling, Va. was born May 1, 1927 in West Monroe and died peacefully on his birthday, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Leesburg, Va., with his wife and children by his side.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 300 McMillian Road in West Monroe. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with interment at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, where the Golson family will be together once again. Peace in the valley....
Mr. Golson is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Irene Brohm Golson of Sterling, Va.; son, Charles Davis Golson Jr. and wife, Connie, and their children, Charles D. Golson III, Cyndi Marie Golson, Conor Nolan Golson, all of Austin, Texas; daughter, Elizabeth Golson Combs of Sterling, Va. and her daughter, Carleigh Elizabeth Combs; brother, Almer "Glenn" Golson and wife, Janet of Cadeville; sister, Nancy Marie Aswell of West Monroe; four stepchildren, Stuart W. Brohm Jr. of Sterling, Va., Frances B. Monroe of Lake Hills, Texas, Catherine B. James of New Port Richey, Fla., and Christine B. Williams of Mary Esther, Fla.; and a host of other nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Almer Davis and Mattie Ethel Wilder Golson; and his childhood friend, Carol Virginia Golson.
