Price Barron Blackwell, Jr., 90, of Bradenton since 1986, formerly of Crawfordsville, IN, died on May 3, 2012. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thurs., at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bradenton, Florida. He attended Fork Union Military Academy and thereafter enlisted in the US Army. His first tour of duty was at the White House and when World War II commenced, he was transferred to the Pacific Theatre and served in the Philippines and Leyte. He was a founding member and past president of El Conquistador Racquet Club, and a founder of the Gourmet Club at El Conquistador Country Club. He retired as president of Lifetime Gate Company in Crawfordsville, Indiana and he was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Bradenton.
Predeceased by parents, Price Barron, Sr. and Mary Blackwell; survived by wife of 61 years, Jean of Bradenton, FL; sons, Price 'Barry' (Joyce), III of St. Louis, MO, Harrison (Judy) of Lafayette, IN; Parker (Cheryl) of Dallas, TX; daughters, Jean (Kim) of Indianapolis, IN, Kennon (Andy) Burns of Alexandria, KY; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Camron, Matthew, John, Jourdan, Grace, Drew, Christopher, Theresa, Bethany, and David.
