Willis, Lyle Bedker
Jul. 7, 1914 - May 5, 2012
Lyle was born in Ludington, MI. After receiving a degree in Business Administration and Economics from Michigan State University, he worked with the United States Treasury Dept. Lyle retired from BP Oil (formerly Amoco Oil) after 32 years. He then served as the business manager for Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, MI.
His passion has always been music. He played trombone in the Grand Rapids Symphony as well as serving as the concert manager. His church music was important to him, leading choirs and choruses wherever he lived. After moving to Sarasota in 1982, he enjoyed the wealth of music opportunities found here.
Pre-deceased by his first wife, Margie and daughter, Linda, Lyle is survived by his wife Dorothy, son, James (Barbara), 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The memorial to celebrate Lyle's life will be held at 11 am today at The First United Methodist Church on Pineapple Ave.
