George M. Newell, Reverend, 88, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of area of Charleston, W.V., died on May 16, 2012. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wed., May 23, 2012 at Dodd-Payne Hess Funeral Home in Fayetteville, WV. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wed., at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home in Fayetteville, WV.
Burial services will be at Huse Memorial Park.
Survivors include daughter Rebecca Newell Chadwell and son-in-law Paul A. Chadwell of Siesta Key, FL. He was predeceased by his faithful wife of 61 years, Sarah B. Newell; daughter, Deborah R. Newell; brother, John W. Newell, Jr.
Rev. Newell was a faithful servant of the gospel for over 60 years. He and his wife ministered over the years in West Virginia, Illinois and Florida. He locally was the retired senior minister and founder of the past Trinity Chapel congregation. Rev. Newell served his country proudly, and was a WW II Army Air Force Veteran.
