Herbert Taber died on May 22, 2012. Born November 13, 1932 in Newark, NJ to the late Mary and Jack Tabatchnick. Adored husband of Binna Golden Taber, formerly of Lexington, MA (nee Warren) and the late Barbara Taber (nee Stein).
Cherished father of Ken (Andi) and Mark (Karen) Taber. Proud grandfather of Sarah, Rebecca, Matt and Brad Taber. Deeply loved and respected by his stepchildren Brad (Peggy), Bill (Kori) and Bob (Melissa) Golden, and their children, Steven, Justin, Rachel, Isabella, Jack, Brooke and Victoria. Devoted brother of Edie Brandt. Graduate of Weequahic HS (1950), Syracuse Univ. (BS '54) and Columbia Univ. (MBA '57).
Served for two years in the U.S. Army in Germany after WWII. He had a distinguished career as a senior executive at RCA Corp. and at Alcan Aluminum, Inc., where he was VP of Sales Worldwide. He retired to Sarasota, FL in 1998, where he served on the Board of Pierian Spring Academy and as VP and Program Chairman of the Columbia University Alumnae Club. Herb will be deeply missed by his large family and his many dear friends. However, we will all have the comfort of knowing that his special legacy will live on through each and every one of us whose hearts he touched during his life's journey. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 1 at 2PM. at Temple Isaiah in Lexington, MA. A reception will immediately follow the service. Contributions in Herb's memory may be made to a
