Malone, Thomas Francis, III "Trey"

Of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012.
Trey was the Valedictorian of the 2009 class at the Out-of-Door Academy. An avid musician, he played the violin in the orchestra. He was also active in athletics as a member of the Varsity Swimming, Soccer, and Track teams. In 2009, his 4X800m relay placed 8th in the State track meet. He attended Amherst College. He was known for his wit, his intelligence, his ease, his thoughtfulness, and his kindness. For this, he will be missed by all.
He is survived by his immediate family: his father Thomas F. Malone, Jr., his mother Audrey Robbins Gaffney, his step-father Daniel Mathew Gaffney, and his sister Callan Elizabeth Malone. A large and loving family includes the Gaffneys, Macks, Eriksons, St.Onges, Jacksons, Van der Mijes, and the Sterlings of Sarasota, Florida. Members also include the Malones of Ann Arbor, Michigan, the Larsons of Honolulu, Hawaii, and the Robbins of Denver, Colorado and Madison, Wisconsin.
Services will be held on June 25, 2012, at 6 pm. at St. Boniface Episcopal Church, 5615 Midnight Pass Road, Siesta Key, FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Trey's name to Child Protection Center, 720 South Orange Avenue, Sarasota, FL, 34236.
