Rockey, Alva I.

Went to his new life surrounded by those he loved Monday evening. Alva was born in Muskegon Heights, MI to Hugh and Maude Rockey, the sixth of seven children. On February 17, 1951 he married the first love of his life Barbara Beckman and they shared 59 years together. Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Lester, Letha, Lloyd, Gordon, Glenn and Charles. Alva loved life, traveling, golfing and most of all spending time with family and friends. He leaves behind his children, Douglas & Samantha Rockey of Bradenton, FL, Paul & Cheryl Rockey of Muskegon, MI, grandchildren, Heather & Wayne Jones of Breman, KY and Johnathon Rockey of Sarasota, FL, as well as his beloved great granddaughters, Savannah and Cara. He is also survived by his new found love Cheryl Dean, sister-in-laws Marilyn and Joan Rockey, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no services and burial will be private.
