Alvin C. Leonard Jr., Dr., 80, of Fort Myers, FL, died on June 19, 2012. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sat., at St Paul's Methodist Church in Largo, FL. Funeral arrangements by: National Cremation & Burial Society, North Fort Myers, FL.
Leonard, Dr. Alvin C. Jr. died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in Ft. Myers. He was born Sept. 10, 1931 in Joliet, IL. After serving in the Korean War he graduated from Indiana State University. He taught mathematics at Boca Ciega High School before becoming a guidance counselor and the Dean of Student Affairs at St. Petersburg College. He was married to Mary Ellen for 53 years and is survived by their 3 daughters, Dianna Wheeley, Denise Butler and Kathleen Allison; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great- grandchildren. His dear friend and companion of 4 years Garnet Giblin. He loved traveling, spending time with friends and family, playing tennis and supporting his favorite sports teams, the Cubs and the Gators. He attended Christ United Methodist in Venice, FL.
A memorial service will be held July 7th at 1 pm, at St. Paul's Methodist Church, Largo, National Cremation & Burial Society. Ft. Myers.
