Jack Earl, 88, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Motherwell, Scotland, died on July 5, 2012.
John (Jack) Earl, 88 of Sarasota, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012. Jack was born February 17, 1924 in Motherwell, Scotland to Andrew and Martha Earl. They moved to America in 1931. Jack served in the US Navy Seabees during WWII in the South Pacific campaign. Jack moved to Sarasota in 1946 after serving in the Navy where he met Patricia Louise Monat. They were married November 30, 1951. Jack was employed by the US Postal Service as a letter carrier till his retirement in 1980. Jack and Pat had a love for sailing early in their relationship and had many friends in the local sailing community at that time. They raised three sons in Sarasota, all of whom still reside in the area.
Jack is survived by his wife Pat; his sons Jeff and daughter in law Sheila (Wooley), Richard, Scott and daughter in law Dawn (Scothorn) and two grand children, Jennifer Marie Earl (Cerand) and Jason Earl.
