Betty Gale Malish, 65, of Venice, Florida, died on June 29, 2012.
Betty Gale Malish, a beloved daughter, sister and aunt passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012 in Venice, Florida. She fought a battle against cancer with grace, strength and dignity. Betty was born on March 18, 1947 in Detroit. She graduated from Royal Oak Kimball High School and attended Eastern Michigan University (Art Major). Betty became a flight attendant with United Airlines out of Denver for 31 years before retiring in 2003. She moved to Venice, Florida and pursued her lifelong interest in art. She painted pet portraits, wall murals, and faux painting home interiors. Her talents extended to taking a used object or piece of furniture and refurbishing them into beautiful home accessories.
Betty is preceded by her father, Edmund Malish, 1975, and her beloved cat "Khaki", 2012. She is survived by her mother, June Malish of Venice, her brother Greg and sister-in-law, Sandi Malish, their sons Kevin, Ryan, and Mike; and grandnephews Kaito, Lua, and grandniece Raevyn of Kansas City, MO. The family plans for a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations in Betty's name should be made to an individual's preferred cancer organization, animal shelter or the Tidewell Hospice of Venice. She will always be remembered for her heartfelt joy and love for her friends and family everywhere.
