Leonard Moore, age 65, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on August 4th, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. Leonard was born on September 30th, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Ruth Curtis. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Moore and two sons, Mark and Derrick Moore; sister, Mary (Ed) Stephens, Tennessee, brother, Danny (Linda) Moore, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Melissa (Lenny) LoCastro, Florida, Barbara (Dwight) Rich, Michigan; mother-in-law, Donna (Lee) Logghe, Michigan, and father-in-law, Allan Hickson, Florida, and dear close friend Bill (Amy) Warner.
Leonard served two tours with the 1st Cav Air Mobile in Vietnam for the United States Army. He received the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal/Numeral 2, and Combat Infantry Badge, Viet Nam Service Medal with one Silver Star and two Bronze Stars, RVN Gallantry Cross along with several other medals honoring his service.
The Memorial Service will be held at Bee Ridge Baptist Church in Sarasota, FL on Friday, August 17th, 2012 at 11:00am then to follow at 1:00pm to the Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Bee Ridge Baptist Church which will be donated to the Sarasota Vet Center in memory of Leonard Moore.
