George E. Angers, 80, of Sarasota, Florida passed away peacefully on August 14, 2012 at Hospice House after a brief battle with cancer.
Born December 7, 1931 in Manchester, NH the son of William and Marion (Montpleasure) Angers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan, who passed away in 1988; his sister, Olive Paris and brother/best friend, John Angers.
He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War.
George was the proud owner of Angers Garden Deli for 32 years in Sarasota with his brother John. He referred to all his customers as his "close friends" and so enjoyed visits from baseball spring training players throughout the years.
He was a member of The Eagle's Club where he enjoyed kindness by all.
He leaves countless loved memories for his 2 children, Patti Stahl, and Rick Angers, sister, Irene Mitchell, 3 grandchildren, Jamie, Ryan, and Abby, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Burial ceremony with military honors will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery on Fri 8/24/12 @ 10am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's fond memory may be made to Tidewell Hospice.
