Ada Leinwand passed away at home after a very full life of teaching, travel, art, music and friends. Prior to moving to Sarasota she was a beloved elementary school librarian in Valley Stream, New York. In the years of her retirement in New York, Massachusetts and Sarasota, she filled her time with her family and many friends, extensive travel around the world, collage art, concerts, cooking, recording books for the blind, and playing tennis. Her family will be forever grateful to the many people of Sarasota who provided care, friendship and support in the past twelve years after a severe stroke left her partially paralyzed, but no less feisty, curious and caring. Contributions in her honor can be made to Learning Ally at www.learningally.org
