Ed C. Baker, 82, of North Venice, FL, died on Feb. 1, 2013. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tue., at Venice Memorial Gardens in Venice, FL. Funeral arrangements by: Ewing Funeral Home.
Born in Missouri, he was a retired law enforcement officer who achieved detective status in E. St. Louis, IL. Ed and his family moved to Siesta Key, FL and spent 20 years living there. Upon moving to Nokomis, he and Audrey spent many years making friends and enjoying the beaches. He was an avid golfer, and looked forward to many fishing trips with his family.
He is survived by his wife Audrey, daughter Sheila, son in law Darryl Mooney, and his only grandson Jesse. Ed was an only child, but he considered Audrey's family of 1 brother, 4 sisters and many nieces and nephews, to be his own.
Nephew Bill Gladdue and son in law Darryl Mooney will speak on behalf of the family at the graveside service.
Ed's request is that, in lieu of flowers, you do an act of kindness for your loved ones.
