Meyer, Roberta J.

Roberta J. Meyer was born July 26, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Mamaroneck Senior High School and
attended Gaines Business School in New York City before moving to Northern Virginia. Ms. Meyer served with the Central Intelligence Agency and the Office of Strategic Services, the predecessor of the CIA, from November 1943 to December 1976. She served at Headquarters in Shanghai, China, Manila, the Philippines, and Kobe, Japan. She received the Career Intelligence Medal for exceptional achievement.
After retirement she was a volunteer at Arlington House, home of Robert E. Lee in Arlington Cemetery. In 1986 she received an Associate in Science degree from Northern Virginia Community College.
Survivors include nieces Susan Eldredge of Burke VA, Kimberly Landaal of Flint, MI, and nephew William Meyer of Minneapolis, MN.
Ms. Meyer was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Doctors Hospital in Sarasota, and Spanish Point.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday February 25th at 11:00 AM at the Church of The Palms.
Memorial Donations maybe made to the of Sarasota , The Humane Society of Sarasota County, or Church of the Palms .
