Peggy Albritton, 84, of Sarasota, FL, died on Nov. 13, 2013. Funeral arrangements by: Manasota Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
Peggy Ann Lindsey Albritton died on November 13, 2013 at 84 years old. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Colin Albritton and son, Thomas Lindsey Albritton.
Peggy is survived by her six children, Linda Gail Strong (Jerome), Robert Albritton (Amber), Mary Albritton (Tom), Hope Morgan (Bill), Holly Hope, and Elizabeth Albritton (Craig). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Peggy was born in Orlando, FL in 1929 and moved as an infant to Daytona Beach, FL where she grew up. She attended Florida State Women's College for a year before meeting her husband in February of 1947. They were married in December of 1947 and then resided in Sarasota, FL. She and her husband helped to build the family citrus business, Albritton Fruit Company. She loved children, and enjoyed learning and helping others.
Peggy was active in Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church for most of her adult life. She taught both Sunday School and Bible School, was a member and past president of the Women of the Church, a Women's Circle leader, an Elder in the church, and past president of the Bee Ridge Women's Club. She sang in the choir and was active on the Outreach Committee, among other endeavors. Peggy's secrets to personal happiness included thinking of others rather than yourself and helping others in whatever way you can.
A celebration of Peggy's life is planned on Sunday, November 24th from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Laurel Oak Country Club. RSVP is required for gate entry. Call 941-371-2955.
