Stanley McClay Engeberg of Sarasota, Florida, was born on August 28, 1925 in Kenmare, North Dakota. He was son to Vernon and Jessie Engeberg of Tacoma Park, Maryland. He served in the Military as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne and the 101, during WWII. After the war, he earned a Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of Maryland in College Park. He became a Foreign Service Officer at United States Information Agency in Washington DC, where he retired at the rank of Deputy Director.
He was an avid golfer, bridge player, and a private pilot. He is survived by his former wife of 29 years, Brenda Engeberg of Crofton, Maryland; and by his two sons, Mark A Engeberg of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and Eric V Engeberg of Crofton, Maryland. His only sibling, Vivian (Engeberg) Moore passed away several years earlier.
Private services will be held in Sarasota, Florida and a plaque will be installed at the family gravesite in Maryland.
