Paul B. Trunzo, 96, passed away on June 17, 2014 in Venice, Florida. He was born on December 22, 1917 in Glassport, Pennsylvania where he resided for 80 years before moving to Florida. He was a retired postal supervisor and after 34 years of active/reserve army military service he retired with a rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. During World War II, he was awarded an EAME, Eastern African Middle East Campaign service medal and also two army commendation medals for exemplary reserve service. He was a member of MOAA, Military Officers Association, and NARFE, National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Paul has been a member of the Fraternal Order Sons of Italy in America since 1945. Survivors include his wife Olga of 69 years of marriage, A GI war bride from France and daughters Paulette Trunzo of Sarasota, Francine Milford of Venice, Annette Trunzo of Pittsburgh, PA and Josette Aramini of Venice, two grandchildren, Larry and Paul Milford and great-grandchild Liam. A memorial mass will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014 1:00 pm at Epiphany Cathedral. Burial will be held with Military Honors Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Sarasota National Cemetery. Ewing Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
