Kenneth Bean of Longboat Key, FL and South Orange, N.J. died peacefully on August 4, 2014 at the age of 92. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Anne Alexander Bean, their two sons, Thomas and Douglas, and their wives Elaine and Sue, his three grandchildren, Sam, Bradley and Emily, his brother Donald and his sister Gloria. He was a 1943 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and he received an MBA from the Wharton School in 1947. He was co-founder, and for many years President, of Tollner & Bean, Inc., dealers in Municipal Bonds. During WWII he served in the US Navy as a Lieutenant aboard the Destroyer Escort USS Holt in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. Known to some and unknown to many of his family and friends he was a published poet. In one of his poems he wrote of the paradox his children confronted in knowing their father as a man of business but also as someone who was exhilarated when he wrote poems. He always considered the literary part of his life to be an important part of who he was. Services have been held.
