Laura E. Prickett Obituary
Prickett, Laura E.
Sept. 5, 1927 - Jan. 17, 2010

Laura E. Prickett, 82, of Yardley, Pa., died Jan. 17, 2010.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 26 at Morrisville Presbyterian Church, Morrisville, Pa. Services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Clarence L.; a daughter, Sandra Prickett Thomas of Richboro; sons Craig P. of Yardley and Todd D. of Newtown; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters Grace Vandermark, Ruth Howell and Bettie Vandewater.
Born Laura Elizabeth Bachofer, she was a lifelong Bucks County resident, raised with her five sisters and two brothers in Tullytown, Pa., by her parents, Ida and Ferdinand Bachofer.
In 1945 she graduated from Fallsington High School, now Pennsbury, and married Clarence L. Prickett of Bristol, Pa., in April of 1949. They settled in Edgely, a suburb of Bristol, and began their family. They then moved to Langhorne and on to Yardley, where they have lived since 1962.
Laura was a gracious lady, sharing with family and friends the many gifts she possessed. Her home was filled with her piano music, especially during the holidays, when she enjoyed playing carols and hymns. Laura's home was brightened by the many flowers she arranged from the gardens she loved to tend. Always cherishing times when all her family could spend time together, she organized trips, the most recent being a boat trip on the American Queen. Happiness surrounded Laura and Clarence, with many hours spent on the tennis courts both in Bucks County as well as The Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice. Laura led a blessed life with a strong faith in God, who peacefully brought her home.
In lieu of flowers, Laura requested that donations in her memory be made to the Lower Makefield Historical Society, P.O. Box 228, Yardley, PA 19067.
