Jack was a good man and the most enthusiastic Gator fan I ever met. He had a good word for everyone and had a caring heart. My sincere sympathy to his family and many friends.

Jack was the epitome of a Gator fan. I looked forward to seeing him in his orange sports jacket and blue pants on Sunday morning at the First Christian Church and talking about our Gators. His white van with orange and blue pin striping often had the results of the previous night's game score written on the windows.

Jack will also be remembered as being a mentor and inspiration to the local youth through his work with the Babe Ruth League.

He was a class act!

My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this sad time.

I first met Jack as a Summer substitute mail carrier (and a UF Gator) in 1969 and when I ended up career carrier in 1978, knew him until re tired, always a character, but clearly dedicated to youth sports and a great sport himself when several of us carriers would critique his "singing voice", you'll be missed Jack..

Jack and I double dated sisters in High School. Fellow attenders of Southside Baptist Church. A good man all around. I knew His Dad before his passing. Peace to all His family, GOD bless you.

If all of us could give just 5% of what this man did, our area youth would have a better grasp of what challenges lie ahead of them. Now i`m sure Jack will carry on with his gift at the big ball park we all hope to see. Jack jr. sorry about the loss of your dad. I know you and your family are very proud! john Samson (sarasota)

While I never played Babe Ruth baseball, I was the official scorer and announcer for several years back in the 60's. Jack's presence at Payne Park was always felt by everyone who was a part of the program. He certainly was a gentleman, a great coach and touched the lifes of so many young people in Sarasota. He will be missed. My condolences to his children, Jack and Genevieve.

Another outstanding leader of youth has passed. I'll always remember Jack in one of his three uniforms. His postal service uniform, his youth sports uniform and his officiating uniform. He performed with equal proficiency in each. Although he is now gone he will never be forgotten.

I will always remember Jack as a fellow letter carrier, a great sport and quite a character. I don't think that is a bad legacy. My thoughts are with your family.
