Heidi Holt Boothe, 90, of Tallevast died Oct. 10, 2011.
Heidi was a true pioneer of Tallavast.
She owned and managed her cattle farm on Tallavast Road for over fifty years. She was a true Renaissance woman, becoming one of the first woman pilots in the Sarasota Flying Club, then an all male group. She raced cars and loved her antique Porsche, she also loved horses and was a skilled and intrepid rider. Heidi was especially proud of her membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her neighbors often saw her waving from her tractor as she mowed her fields, which she continued to do until she was 85.
Heidi was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Boothe Rider in 2004.
She is survived by a sister, Shirley Holt Hiss; a niece, Muffi deCamp Hiss deBruyne, and two nephews, Maynard Hiss and Philip Hiss.
She will be missed by her many friends, including her loving neighbor, Ida Thomas.
A memorial to Heidi's life will take place at her home, 2851 Tallavast Road, in Manatee County on Oct. 29, 2011 at 11 a.m.
