Edward G. Orlosky was born on June 16, 1919 in Forest City, PA to William Orlosky and Sophia Guzewich, who emigrated from Poland to a dairy farm in northeast PA. On December 19, at age 93, Ed passed away peacefully while a resident of Sunset Lake Village's Memory Care, Venice, FL. His Savior, Jesus Christ, called him home where he was reunited with his wife Anna, who predeceased him just 25 days before and after 74 years of marriage. He is also predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Orlosky and grandson, Andrew Orlosky. Ed is survived by his sons, Edward L. (Karen), Kent, WA; Thomas J., Venice, FL; daughter, Judith V. Walker (Donald), Hutchinson Island, FL. Six grandchildren: Lorraine, Robert, Julia, and Carol of WA; Jane, NY; Timothy, FL. Eight great grandchildren: Nathan, Zachary, Kelly, Jessica, Benjamin, WA; Daniel (Sr. Airman) Korea; Ethan, NM; Marcus, NY. Three great great grandchildren: Autumn, Rylee and James, WA. Ed enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII serving for a time in Japanese waters, and worked 20 years as tinsmith for the Pennsylvania Railroad. After 32 years in NJ, Ed and Anna moved to Venice in 1971, first managing the Osprey estate of Mr. Barstow, Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus Director and later living in their Venice Island residence until August. Ed was employed by Sarasota County Hospital as security guard supervisor. Fishing and hunting were his favorite pastimes, and he knew the Gulf waters well. Father and Grandfather is lovingly remembered for joyfully sharing his time, boat and skills with children and grandchildren. In NJ, He loved to hunt rabbits, pheasant, deer; bow fish and ice fish. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Venice Church of the Nazarene where he was a member. Ed's family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 am Monday, Dec. 31, with a celebration of his life following at 10:00 am, all at Venice Church of the Nazarene, 1535 E. Venice Avenue. Burial at Venice Memorial Gardens. Arrangements under the care of Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel.
